Around the New Year, I heard friends I hadn't talked to for a long time introduce themselves as "single mothers" and realized I recognized a lot of single mothers. I realized that I recognized a lot of single moms, as well as those who had been single for a few years and then became two parents again. I sighed, and a story like this popped into my head. After a few days, it gradually became clearer and clearer.
